Next Level Grazing - with guest speaker Siobhan Griffin
The focus will be on lifting farm productivity on pastoral farmland using nature's template to help build better soil capital and increase biodiversity so farmers can be profitable in any weather.
Tapping into fourteen years of hands-on regenerative farming experience and over 30 total farming years, Siobhan Griffin shares what practices have resulted in the most profitable outcomes on both her own regenerative dairy farm and on clients’ farms for dairy, sheep and beef. She can provide guidance for practices which result in richer diversity and more reliable profit in extreme weather.
Location is on a property in Matakana: address provided before the event.
The property is a 300 acre farm being managed regeneratively.
Farm manager Jake and his partner Emma recently shifted from Otago to Matakana. From scratch, they’re building up and managing a unique farm system on 300 effective acres split over 2 properties approximately 10 minutes apart. The goal is to build a diverse farm system using stacked enterprises and applying so-called “regenerative” practices.
This is also a chance to meet others in the Kaipara Regenerative Farming Group.
