Code of Conduct - FULL

Our goal for The Dig online community is to create a safe, harmonious and supportive space for discussing regenerative agriculture practices, ideas and inspiration. The Dig is not a social media channel, but an online community for like-minded connection and support. Please read and follow the guidelines below to help us maintain a respectful and engaging community.

1. Respectful discussions

This is a place to focus on regenerative agriculture and farming. While discussions around policies affecting agriculture may arise, please avoid divisive or unrelated political (anything that comes from a politician) conversations. We encourage discussions that are relevant, inclusive and constructive to the community’s purpose as stated above.

2. Thoughtful sharing of ideas

We welcome all ideas and perspectives. However, please avoid sharing links or posts without context, with the intention to inflame or cause division, or to recruit others to your perspective. Instead, provide context, research or ask questions that encourage a productive and curious dialogue.

3. Appropriate language and tone

Respectful language is essential. Avoid offensive language, slurs or derogatory comments. This community values all members’ voices and fosters an inclusive environment for people of all backgrounds.

4. Sales, trade and promotions

Please only use the #_classifieds channel for sales or promotional activities. All sales and trade transactions are the sole responsibility of the involved parties. For full details, see the Terms and Conditions for The Dig.

5. Job listings

Job postings related to regenerative farming are welcome in the #_classifieds channel. Employers and job seekers are encouraged to interact respectfully, adhering to professional standards and the community's values. We recommend you conduct yourself across all channels with the thought that a future employer or employee may see it!

6. Bullying and harassment

Zero tolerance for any form of bullying, harassment or intimidation. Any form of disrespectful or antagonistic behaviour will result in immediate review and possible removal from The Dig. This is a space for mutual respect and encouragement. Administrators reserve the right to remove members who breach this Code of Conduct at any time.

7. Event and workshop promotion

Relevant events, workshops and learning opportunities are welcome, especially if they align with regenerative practices and are genuinely beneficial to members. Post into the #_general-chat channel or DM an administrator (see section ‘15. Contact’ below for links) to get it posted into the #_newsfeed channel.

8. Relationships

Maintain respectful, fair and supportive communication between professional and personal relationships especially those between employers and employees. Disputes should be handled privately - this community is not a place to air grievances about any relationships or to escalate conflicts.

9. Defamation

Please avoid defaming or disparaging companies, organisations or individuals. Constructive criticism is welcome, but this community is not a place for inflammatory statements or unfounded accusations. If you do have concerns about a company or person providing a service in this space, please message the administrators so we can make a plan together (see section ‘15. Contact’ below for links).

10. Privacy and screenshotting

Please respect the privacy of others. Do not screenshot or share discussions from this community outside the group without permission from the original poster and any others involved. Privacy is essential for open and honest discussions. Doing so may result in your removal from The Dig.

11. Animal health and treatment

This community advocates for responsible animal care and welfare. When discussing animal health practices, exercise caution and avoid promoting any unverified treatments. Misleading veterinary advice may be moderated to ensure ethical standards in animal care are upheld. All advice taken is at the responsibility of the individual.

12. Admin team and community responsibility

The admin team will do its best to support a safe and supportive environment. However, the actions and posts of members are their own, and the admin team cannot take responsibility for the behaviour or posts of others. We aren’t here to silence or censor, but we do hope we can set The Dig up for longevity by creating this series of commonsense guidelines to help set us up for the future as we grow.

The admin team can be contacted using the links in the ‘15. Contact’ section below, and currently consists of:
Nick Tucker, Jono Frew, Chanelle O’Sullivan and Chloë Dear.

13. Membership and conduct review

The admin team reserves the right to review, suspend or terminate access to The Dig as necessary to uphold these guidelines and foster a positive group environment. This includes actions taken in response to any violation of this Code of Conduct. Unless it’s a serious breach, you will receive one warning before removal.
