Join webinar co-hosts Sam Lang (Quorum Sense, Foothills Farming) and Jules Matthews (CREATE coach, Mangaroa Farms) as they share a simple process for identifying the limiting factors that are ‘putting a drag on your system’.
The complexity of farm systems can make it hard to figure out where to get the best return on your time, money and/or energy. Even understanding just parts of our farms (i.e. soil health/fertility) can feel overwhelming, let alone trying to think about everything. This sense of overwhelm can lead to inaction, or actions that fail to address the root cause of what’s not working.
You will learn a simple process to identify and understand your limiting factors, identify your low hanging fruit and prioritise changes or interventions to address them.
This webinar is funded by Beef + Lamb New Zealand as part of the ‘Catch the Rain’ project - anyone is welcome to attend.
This webinar is based on the processes and information available on the Quorum Sense Toolbox - Identifying your limiting factors page.
About ‘Catch the Rain’
Catch the Rain is a farmer-driven education, research and innovation project focused on improving rainfall infiltration and soil moisture retention on non-irrigated pastoral farms. Is it funded by Beef + Lamb New Zealand and led by Quorum Sense.
There are 40 farmers participating from Southland to the Manawatu that are developing, implementing and monitoring on-farm trials. Many of these trials are focused on testing different grazing techniques. For more about Catch the Rain visit www.quorumsense.org.nz/catch-the-rain-project.
