“Our conference provides opportunities to accelerate climate action in Te Tai Tokerau. We have some excellent presentations on offer and workshops to help us plan for further action. The main purpose of the conference is to highlight the good work already happening here to heal the climate.

“The range of mitigation options presented will be much wider than the predominant national focus on emissions reductions. While we must eliminate the use of fossil fuels as quickly as possible, a lot of potent solutions are to be found in regenerating the environment and exploring how we can optimise our economic activity to cool the climate. It is especially important for our young people to know that there is hope and they have agency.” Peter Bruce-Iri.
