Details

The Soil Armour Field Day is sharing learnings from AgResearch’s  project that’s investigating whether a pasture-based alternative, supplemented with hay or baleage, will reduce nitrate leaching and paddock pugging. Of particular interest is to share the learnings on farm and the challenges of implementing a bale graze system and managing feed budgets.

The Soil Armour research is funded by the Ministry for Primary Industries as a three year  Sustainable Land Management and Climate Change project.

MPI’s On Farm Support team will also be on hand to catch up and assist with feed budgeting.

Speakers:

  • Chris Arbuckle, Specialist Adviser, On Farm Support

  • Dr Ross Monaghan, Principal Scientist, AgResearch

  • Deane Parker, Quorum Sense
