Chloë Dear

QS Team Manager Chloë took on the management of Quorum Sense at the end of 2021. She brings project and charitable trust management skills to Quorum Sense following 20+ years in cultural and event management and a few years in agricultural extension.

Her life-long interest in sustainable agriculture goes back to her Southland childhood and working on ecological farms in the UK. After stints as a women farmer advisor in Nepal and Ethiopia, Chloë changed tack completely and entered the world of street theatre and circus, specialising in large-scale outdoor performances involving cranes, aerialists and pyrotechnics.

Returning to NZ in 2012, Chloë and her husband began realising their dream of developing a small scale agriculture enterprise and becoming self-sufficient in food production. They are currently trialing sheep dairying and exploring how regenerative agriculture can augment their farming system. When not busy with Quorum Sense, plants and sheep, Chloë is to be found exploring the back country on her horses.
