Diverse forage crops - ‘Catch the Rain’ webinar Jun'24

Webinar host Sam Lang and guest farmers Dave Mitchell and Duncan Humm share how they (and other farmers) are successfully incorporating diverse forage crops into their farm systems.

Short presentations from Sam, Dave and Duncan cover:

  • Different types of diverse forage crops (i.e. for silage, summer feed, winter feed etc)

  • Benefits, risks and limitations

  • Selecting species and seeding rates

  • Establishment options

  • Managing diverse forage crops

Dave and Duncan share examples of the different crops they have grown, both successfully and less successfully, and lessons they’ve learnt along the way.

The webinar expanded on the information on Diverse Forage Crops that is available in the Quorum Sense Toolbox - we encourage you to check it out!

This webinar was funded by Beef + Lamb New Zealand as part of the ‘Catch the Rain’ project.
